What is the primary function of the Livingston Park County Tennis Association?
The LPTCA has been involved in promoting tennis in Park County Montana for over a decade. We raised the money to build the six tennis courts in Sacajawea Park. These courts are the only publicly accessible courts in Park County, and these courts are free to the public. These courts are also the courts used by the Park High School tennis team for all their practices and matches. Park High School utilizes these courts to hold divisionals. The LPTCA works with the City of Livingston, Park County, and Park High School to maintain these courts. This includes a significant resurfacing of the courts every 7 years, which just occurred in 2022, and cost over $30,000. Lastly, the LPTCA conducts free tennis clinics for kids each summer with professional instruction.
Does the Livingston Park County Tennis Association conduct fundraising events?
Yes, we have a number of fundraisers throughout the year. We conduct tennis clinics at the courts for adults in order to raise money. We also organize tennis tournaments each summer to benefit the non-profit. We also participate in the annual summer rodeo in Livingston. Then, during the year, we conduct a number of other fundraisers, whether raffles or working with the high school tennis team to bag groceries.
How are donations spent by the non-profit?
The money is spent to maintain the six courts in Sacajawea Park for the benefit of the public, because the courts are free to the public. The non-profit also conducts free tennis clinics for kids in the summer. Further, the non-profit is interested in expanding access to tennis to other parts of the County. We do not have a staff and 100 percent of donations goes directly toward our mission. The board and volunteers donate all of their time.
